About Lino Miani

2015 08 12 Half Mug FullLino Miani is a retired US Army Special Forces officer, author of The Sulu Arms Market, and CEO of Navisio Global LLC 

He has been operating in special operations, interagency, and multinational arenas in Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, and NATO since 2001.

He is a veteran of the Program for Emerging Leaders (PEL) at the Center for the Study of WMD at National Defense University in Washington, DC; an Olmsted Foundation Scholar; and a sought after expert on illicit markets, WMD proliferation, and interagency organization. His 2011 book, The Sulu Arms Market is the world’s authoritative look inside the shadowy world of illicit trafficking of firearms in Southeast Asia. His book was nominated for the International Convention of Asia Scholars (ICAS) book prize in 2013.

Lino speaks Spanish, Malay, Indonesian, and French.

He holds a B.S. in Regional Geography from West Point; an M.A. in Strategic and Defense Studies from the University of Malaya; and an M.A. in Interagency Studies from Kansas University.
